Fred Office gets people talking at APP2008
This year's Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Trade Exhibition 2008 on the Gold Coast was bigger than ever, with hundreds of pharmacists and industry people visiting to explore all the latest news and developments in pharmacy.
This year was our busiest yet, with constant visitors to our stands to explore Fred Office, our new pharmacy management system, and meet our new brand Fred, as well visiting the Fred Net cafe.
Fred Office was definitely the star of our show, and demonstrations were a particular highlight, according to Jason Bratuskins, a pharmacist with Fred and a consultant in the development of Fred Office.
"This was the first time that pharmacists had the chance to explore the full release of Fred Office, and we were delighted that people really liked what they saw. There had been a lot of anticipation about the release of Fred Office, and those expectations were very pleasantly met."
"The thing that seemed to generate the most interest was the ability to see both your Dispense and POS data in the one place. The ease with which pharmacists can view a script analysis report with true mark-up and profit values based on POS data is a real strength."
The software's modern look and feel, based on Microsoft Outlook style, was also popular, according to Jason. "People really liked the look of it, and delegates could see that it would be very easy to pick up for all pharmacy staff."

Because we know the business of running a pharmacy inside out, we were able to take a revolutionary approach to designing an easy to use and fundamentally powerful back office management system."
New stock control and ordering features also allow you to more accurately gauge your stock needs, helping your customers to find what they are looking for when they need it, and new inventory features such as dynamic rate of usage provide a current view of exactly what is selling, so that you can more accurately control your stocks.
National Sales Manager, Byron Mitchell, said that the company's new branding of Fred Health was also a hit. "One of the things that we enjoy most about being part of APP is having the chance to catch up with people. This year, we also got to showcase our new brand and direction with Fred Health, created to focus on the business needs of pharmacy. We were pleased that visitors to our stands told us that they really liked what they saw, and that our products and branding and core business areas of Fred Retail, Fred Services and Fred Pharmacy were really easy to understand, which was one of our major goals."
